AP Test Day Instructions for Students

AP Testing is almost here! In order to create an efficient, calm and secure testing environment, please read ALL of the following information carefully.

On Test Day:

Arrive at the testing location (this specific information will be published by/on April 26) NO LATER THAN 7:30am for the morning exam and 11:30am for the afternoon exam.

Upon arrival, we will have clear ziplock bags for you to label and store your cell phone and any other electronic devices (smart watches, etc). We will keep your devices secure and return after the test. If you have your backpack, you may bring it to be stored, but NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES are allowed inside. Any electronic noise can jeopardize the test/score of every student in the room.

You may bring a snack in a clear bag (or clearly labeled with your name/identifiable) that will also be collected and given to you at the 10-minute break. Only water will be allowed in the Testing Room and stored under your chair. You will not have access to your backpack until the test is over.

Have a hard copy of an ID (school-issued, driver’s license, passport) ready to show the proctor. Your ID MAY NOT BE ON YOUR cell phone.

When arriving inside the Testing Room, you will be expected to quickly and silently find your seat.

We will handle reporting your attendance at AP exams to the DSHS Attendance Office. Your parents do not need to call and excuse you from the class(es) you will be missing. If you have a morning exam, you can report to class after the exam without a stop at the Attendance Office. For afternoon exams, you will be excused from your class by 11:00 to arrive on time at 11:30. Please note that you will not be excused from class before an afternoon exam or from class after taking the morning exam. If the morning exam runs past DSHS’s scheduled lunch, you will be given 30 minutes to eat before reporting to class. If you are a junior high school student, please work with your school’s Attendance Office regarding your absence.

If you have a College Board approved accommodations exam, you will hear directly from Mrs. Gladding where to report for your test administration.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Testing Coordinator Mrs. Gladding at [email protected] or stop by the Testing Office before/after school or at lunch. Congratulations to you all on working so hard in preparation of your exams. The AP testing team is looking forward to supporting you on test day.
